II. Just For Writers
Many people have said to me, "I have a book in me. I don't know how to start." I give them the advice that I received from Alan Cohen in his book, I HAD IT ALL THE TIME. He said to just write "a word, a phrase, a sentence at a time. "
I have been writing my whole life. In 13 years, I never intended to write a book, but now have 4 published books and 6 others waiting to be published.
I counsel people to keep a journal by their bed. In the beginning many ideas, words, phrases, sentences came in the middle of the night. My writing was always for me.... not for someone else. If a book evolved out of my writings, it just grew like a garden from the seeds I had planted and nurtured and was harvested when the fruit was ripe and luscious.
